Thursday 13th March *****skiing at Semnoz - sunny

We had a great day’s skiing at Semnoz:) The weather is glorious, deep blue sky and sun again! The snow is surprisingly good and there are some really good pistes. We started off by going down to the left of where we are parked which is a small plateau at the top of the resort. A pretty difficult green leads down to 2 lifts, one drag and one chair. We spent all morning over there playing on the red and blue slopes. There were two slalom courses set out for the kids, one on the red and one on the blue. I couldn’t resist having a go when they had packed up and gone for lunch! After our lunch back at the van we completed our 6 hour lift pass with an afternoon mainly down to the right of where we are parked. We were looking forward to going down Le Sapinettes blue piste which starts at the top (Cret de Chatillon (1699m) – the highest point on this particular stretch of mountain) and snakes down passing the walking paths and the road. It is very strange to pass walkers with their dogs and cars going up and down! We timed it just right to get the chair lift back up to the top and return to the van before our pass ran out at 4.30:) What a good day. I went for a walk and watched and helped a snow kiter but Mag stayed at the van reading and having a rest!
